About us

Coronation Brass was formed by Max Joseph and Nick Jones in 2001 to participate in a trip to the Mediterranean island of Malta.  The original group was just a ten piece brass ensemble, but in 2002 the group were invitied to play at the European Folklore Festival in Bitburg, Western Germany.

There is a long history of a British brass band at the festival – English Festival Brass started taking a group of players to Bitburg in the 1970s under the direction of Tim Lord.  After over two decades of successful trips Tim decided to call it a day, and Coronation Brass took on the honour of representing the UK at this prestigious international festival.

Players are drawn from brass bands across the UK and beyond and over the years we have had representatives of the Cory Band, Fodens, Tredegar, BTM, Friary Guildford, Kirkintilloch and East London Brass to name a few.

The music is light hearted, and the band has plenty of time to enjoy socialising and relaxing as well as making the most of the daily performances.

We are always on the look out for new people to join us on tour – if you think that a few days enjoying fun music and a great social atmosphere are for you then please get in touch!
